“I can not find enough words to express my total gratitude…”
All our recipients have a story about how they became involved in Hearing Dogs and the way in which their dogs have impacted and improved their lives.
Anil Manccha, who lives alone in Wellington and works as an analyst, is one of our latest recipients, receiving his Hearing Dog Jimmy at the end of 2015.
“I cannot find enough words to express my total gratitude for having the privilege of having my hearing dog. Mitzi is absolutely everything to me, even when at times she is a bit of a monkey and thinks she can have time out because someone else is around.”
“I believe that other deaf and hearing-impaired people should have the opportunity of owning a hearing dog. These dogs enhance opportunities for communication with others and also enable their owners to gain a greater sense of safety and security in their environment.”
Stefan can’t imagine life without Cully to let him know when someone is at the door or the telephone is ringing. “Before I had Cully, it was quite annoying because people would stop calling me when I didn’t answer the phone,” said Stefan. So Cully has been instrumental in keeping Stefan in contact with his family and friends.
