One of the biggest challenges we face is raising awareness of the role and value of Hearing Dogs. Having registered Hearing Dogs speakers who are trained to give presentations on our behalf means we are able to raise the profile of Hearing Dogs across the country.
We currently have volunteers trained as registered speakers in Auckland, Whangarei, New Plymouth, Te Aroha, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Wanaka.
All speakers are happy to explain more about Hearing Dogs to groups and clubs wanting to know about our work. So if you’re looking for a speaker for your club why not give us a call? (We do not charge for speaking but welcome a donation and contribution towards travel expenses.)
If there are no trained speakers in your area, why not consider becoming one yourself? Becoming a registered Hearing Dogs speaker is a great way of meeting new people whilst raising awareness of the benefits a Hearing Dog can be to a deaf person. Full training and materials are provided to those wishing to volunteer their services. All speakers give their time voluntarily. Please contact us for more details.
